Maisons à pans de bois dans le centre ancien d'Orléans

The secrets of barrel-making

Chécy, Orleans

Chécy in the Loire region was, up until the First World War, a thriving commercial centre for the production of both wine and barrels. With an impressive collection of nearly 3,000 pieces, the barrel-making museum illustrates the processes of producing barrels, making and storing wine.

It also gives a peak into the daily life of winemakers of yesteryear with its winegrower's house and farm buildings...
